Introduction to EndNote (Reid Library) In-Person

Introduction to EndNote (Reid Library)

This introductory session will include:

  • Creating and organising an EndNote library
  • Adding references to a library both manually and by using direct export or filters
  • Using the Group function to organise references
  • Inserting and editing citations in a Word document using EndNote’s Cite While You Write (CWYW) function
  • Formatting references in different reference or output styles

For more information about EndNote, visit the EndNote Guide.

Attention Mac users: the workshops will be conducted on the training room's Windows PCs. It is preferred that participants use the training room PCs during the workshop.  The activities demonstrated in the class are the same for both Windows and Mac users. Here is a link to a Mac version of the class handout

Note: EndNote is not a substitute for knowing how to construct the reference style you are required to use for your courses or publications.

For more information on reference styles, see the options listed under ‘Referencing’ in the Guides directory.

For links to video tutorials and frequently asked questions, please visit our EndNote Guide.
